About

South Africa Gateway is written and published by Mary Alexander.

I research information on South Africa – and Africa as a whole – in an unbiased way, using dependable data from local and global statistical agencies.

I do my best to present the facts about the country and the continent. Some facts aren’t great. Some are better than you’d think.

But no country is only understood by its government, its GDP or its global ranking in this or that. This site also celebrates the history, images, culture and people of South Africa, and the rest of Africa.
